After having no power for 30 hours last week I decided to get a generator to run the fridge and wifi equipment. I wanted propane since I have tanks for the bbq already. Power went out again yesterday for 8 hours. I didn't think I'd be using it so soon and still needed to do its 5 hours of initial break-in run time.
I took the generator out of the box, added oil, connected the propane tank, primed with 5 pulls on the prime setting, turned setting to propane, pulled and it started like a champ. It's okay loud. You can't hear it in front of the house about 100' away. Leaf blowers in the neighborhood are louder. After running the generator for 2 hours I added the wifi load and later the refrigerator. It ran for almost 6 hours with no problems. When I turned it off I could hear other louder generators in the hood.

I purchased 2 of the 2500 Dual Fuel Generator with a parallel kit. After reading the reviews on how hard these were to start on propane I was surprised when they fired right up following the quick start directions
They are light, relatively quiet and for me quick starting on both propane and gas. Break in period is easy but time consuming. I did change the oil 4 times during the 5 hour break in following suggestions I found numerous times on YouTube.

Definitely recommend this little guy for anyone looking for a dual fuel inverter. It’s quiet, powerful and linkable to other champion generators for the ability to power 30/50 amp service. I purchased two to link for my RV. Got a great deal on these Christmas 2022.

Let me first say, this is my second Champion product. I also own the 4500 watt dual fuel model. I've had my Champion 2500 Watt dual fuel inverter now for about a month and simply could not be happier. It is a real keeper. It looks as good as it runs, and that's saying a lot, because it is a beautifully designed, fully enclosed work of art.
Now, be sure to follow all instructions...I know, I know, everyone always says that, but no joke -- FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE "T". Get the oil level correct and use the provided bottle for the initial 5 hour break-in period. Do not use synthetic oil during the break-in. Totally fine to add synthetic after that, and in-fact, that's what I'm using now. I also purchased a magnetic dipstick to replace the plastic OEM one, and to provide a little extra protection for the engine, something I would strongly recommend.
Initially, I thought of running the inverter strictly on propane, but my primary use is to recharge my EcoFlow and Bluetti batteries while camping, and of course as power backup for emergencies at home to supplement to my Champion 4500 watt in the event of a major outage. The convenience of filling the 1 gallon tank is huge, and provides 8 - 11 hours of run time. Plenty to keep all my batteries charged for days, as they'll typically only require a couple hours to charge, and on those really cold nights, I can keep a heater running in my teardrop trailer.
I store my generator in a dust free corner of my garage, and plan on starting it up every 2 or 3 weeks to keep it running in tip top shape, but there are really great instructions provided for long term storage. Best of all, the carburetor has a fuel drain screw to completely empty the bowl. That's brilliant on behalf of the design team and something the instructions will familiarize you with. Bottom line, don't leave gas in this unit for over a month without starting it up...or draining it. This is truly a beautiful generator all the way around. And did I mention it looks great too?
I found a Pure Gasoline filling station locally which sells high octane non-ethanol fuel, and that's exclusively what I use when powering from gas. I've also used propane and it runs just the same...albeit with a couple hundred watts lower output. Not a big deal for what I'm doing, and it's comforting to know I have two options.
When operating from propane, again follow the instructions to the letter. It requires more pulls on the cord to get it started initially -- primarily because it takes a while to prime the propane hose. Expect as many as a dozen pulls, though I usually only need around 5 or 6 to get it running. If you simply can't get it to fire on propane, contact the company for a replacement regulator. 99% of the time, that's the culprit.
If you're on the fence about this generator, just get it. And don't delay putting it through the break-in period. If you have any issues, you can take care of them under warranty. Happy camping and generating!

If you're on the fence about this generator, just get it. And don't delay putting it through the break-in period. If you have any issues, you can take care of them under warranty. Happy camping and generating!
