It works very well, loud but not as loud as other ones, don't bother the neighbors at all
I bought this one as an open box, used but in the original box, it looks to me like no one ever touched it, looks and works great.
I don't know why open box?? I did save a couple of hundred bucks but it looks A+++
I put in the right oil and the right gas and it starts right away first o second pull.
Very happy with it so far 3 months.

My home seldom loses power, but when it does, it's very inconvenient, and I never know how long the outage will be. I depend on my PC a lot, and that's why I selected an inverter instead of a generator; I wanted the cleaner power output. Since my home is mostly gas, the electric demand is pretty low, and the 8750/7000W inverter was perfect. I do my own home wiring, and I had already installed a mechanical interlock on my breaker box and the connector on the side of the house. To use a generator/inverter directly, it was imperative that I get one that I was certain I could unbond the ground and neutral. Many thanks to Champion for posting a video on exactly how to unbond the inverter! It only took a few minutes, and I was able to power the house without any problem! (I did put together a 115V plug with the ground and neutral bonded to plug into the inverter when it's not connected to the house.)
So that's the connection story. Now about the machine itself. It was very easy to follow the instructions which entailed installing the wheels, the handle, and connecting the battery. I did have to go get some oil since none was included, but that's not a big deal. I appreciated the funnel and long tube to facilitate putting the oil in. Once it was fueled up and the crankcase oiled up, it started right up. I was surprised that it wasn't louder; Champion put a heck of a muffler on it! The exhaust isn't much louder than just the sound of the machine running. I appreciate the smaller size of the inverter; it will be easier to store when not in use. And it's an attractive machine, too! I'm very pleased with the inverter, and will recommend it!

Started right up when unboxed following Simone steps. The shipping brackets were hard to get off. Mainly just remembering which way to turn them when it wasn’t the head of the bolt you were turning on some.
I started it with battery no problem and a few days later with one pull.
I tested it with the leaf blower attachment from my shop vac because it was handy.
Seems to be well made.

I’m only about 6hrs run time into this Champion generator but I’m liking it so far.
I had the Predator and returned it because of the 120v display issue that is a common complaint with them and because I found that the Champion version is actually cheaper through Amazon and has a 3yr warranty that it comes with. The Predator has a bigger tank, USB chargers built in, weather proof covers on start and eco switches and a CO monitor. The Champion has a smaller 4 gallon tank, a cigarette lighter socket and adapters for USB and 12v battery charging, no switch covers, no CO monitor (I don’t want or need anyway) but comes with a 3yr manufacturer warranty, the Champion manual is actually complete and a listing of part numbers for every single part of the unit, a metal fuel shut off valve instead of plastic and better quality control before it goes down the road. Between the two generators I feel the Predator engine surged more and didn’t keep a steady RPM but I did like the larger fuel tank. I’ve looked them over closely and it looks like the electrical parts are possibly the same. When speaking with the help line for predator I had asked what parts were available on the unit primarily concerned with the electrical parts like the inverter and stator he told me that stuff wasn’t available but listed what was. It was at that moment I made my decision to return the Predator and ordered the Champion. I wouldn’t doubt though that you couldn’t use the parts from WEH or Champion in the Predator. For me it was about price, parts availability, and warranty. I paid $1020 for the Predator without a warranty that included a 20% off coupon on top of sale price. I paid $920 for the Champion shipped to my door that came with a three year warranty and was delivered promptly. I do not regret my decision but I wish the Champion offered that oversized fuel tank!!!

Easy setup. Yes, I read the directions. Much quieter than my older unit (not a Champion). Photos are mostly in the order of operations. Added oil and fuel and it started right up. Love the electric start. Ran it about 30 minutes so far. Will do the break-in run later today. I used non synthetic 5W-30 oil because temps are high 20's to low 30's. I will be using synthetic 5W-30 after the break-in period. We gave temps from -10 to 100 throughout the year (North Central CT)

I have a 26' travel trailer I use quite a bit. And this generator/inverter works fantastic for me!!! Best money I ever spent!!! The 3500 watts is perfect for running everything in it including my a/c!!!!! It will run on 4 gallons of gas about 10 hours at full load!!! What else, oh I have it mounted now to the front of my travel trailer on a stand. It makes boondocking out on the beach a pleasure!!! Product support is spot on, and the noise level is a bit higher than my Honda inverter. I'm looking forward to many years of service from this generator!!!

This generator was great for the two or three times I used it. Then I ran into a problem. I called about Champion about their warranty and received the 3rd degree from two different people with questions. I finally got mad and told them to stop with the gestapo routine, I’ve done nothing wrong and have used power equipment for decades. They then changed their tune and sent me to place for me to have it looked at.
Update 9/20/22.... Champion's Warranty took care of the problem. Now I'm looking forwards to years of back- up electricity for my home. This generator runs my well, pump, 2 refrigerators, all the lights etc. and 2-1500 watt heaters. But not power enough for my A/C. But would probably would run the A/C if I turned a few things off.

I have access to a Fluke 1730 energy meter with a datalogger. the picture with the better quality power is from this Champion Generator( about a 45 minute trend). the other picture is from my utility power( about a 2 hour trend). you can see the Frequency of the utility power fluctuates from about 59.96 - 60.04 hz and the total harmonic distortion from 2.4% - 2.7%. this Champion Generators power is great at about 60.025 - 60.035 hz spikes. and those spikes are only from when our deep well pump kicks in. the total harmonic distortion is pretty steady at 1.1 for one leg and 1.5 for the other leg, and only really fluctuates when the well pump kicks in also. the Generators trend is under a pretty good load. (prolly 4000 to7000 watts when the well pump kicks in. I'm overall very happy with this purchase.
only bad thing is that it's NOT very quiet. might be a couple decibels quieter than my old Generac GP6500. not a deal breaker for me since my nearest neighbor is about a half mile away and my generator cable that hooks to the house allows me to put it on the side of the garage so we barely hear it in the house.
It was very easy to put together. also easy to convert to floating ground. (video on champions website)
the oil fill location is not as bad as some say. the included funnel works fine. Electric start is a new thing for me and works good, I think the Wife will like that and that its about 30 pounds lighter than the old one.

I received it two days after order on a Sunday.
I unboxed it, followed the directions, making sure to remove the spacers. Put the oil {came with it } and put gas in it. It is 33 degrees out started first pull without the choke on. It was easy to pull.
My first impression was it was pretty quiet. The video I'm sharing it is a covered porch. It's a 224cc engine so it is what it is. I bought it because I am remodeling a house I bought so that I can run power tools. Without have to spend money on another power bill, not to mention since I didn't have a portable generator it's not a bad thing to have one lying around. Also for me the icing on the cake it that it was available with the non credit payment installments.
Bottom line for me so far?
6 stars.
Thanks for reading and have a great day. Angelo

Angelo
