This unit has worked great so far! We took it on our last camping trip (two weeks long) and it kept our batteries charged. We didn’t have to use our generator once. We just ordered the 30’ extension cord, which will make our next trip even nicer.
Update: adding the 30’ extension cord didn’t inhibit our daily solar intake at all. We generally hit 13.7V, but there were many days where we were over 14V. Our highest was 14.7V. So impressed with this system! 😊

We have 4 solar panels on the roof of our RV, but sometimes the best camping site doesn't have a lot of direct sunlight. We therefore use the Go Power! 120w solar panel to extend our battery life by allowing us to move the panel into the sunlight. This was a GREAT addition to our RV's solar arsenal. We camped last summer for 22 days, without ever having to connect to shore power. We love to camp in very remote locations and this portable solar panel helps keep our batteries topped off every day. Love this!!!

See UPDATE Below - Bought the 80watt portable kit....added expedited shipping for a trip this weekend, but the unit was bad. Tested and tried every cable, multiple batterys, but the controller never turned on. There was a small gash on one of the wires exposing, the wiring inside, the fuse was also rated for 7.5 amp rather than 10 and was the mini fuse rather than normal size....even tho the fuse housing is setup for the normal size fuse. Just seems like no care for their product. After the time and trouble it took to troubleshoot, im disapointed i chose this product. Looking into getting a Zamp Solar kit now. If i get some feedback and descent customer support i may revise the review but right now this product is junk!
UPDATE - the original unit i ordered had an older faceplate and possibly used....and did not work! Not sure what the deal is with that unit, but i have since received a replacement and it matches what it should look like per the Go Power! website. This unit works perfectly. Go Power! customer service was very helpful.

Purchased this so I wouldn't need to have a generator for our Travel Trailer. Was hoping the job would get one with this solar unit. We use LED bulbs in our trailer and have some mild electrical pull from the battery after daily use. We also use an LED Flat screen TV.
First time we used it I hooked it up at 7:30 am in partial sun. We didnt have full sun or the optional extension that I will be getting. The hook up is straight forward and very easy. We hooked it directly to our batteries. We will be hard mounting the male/female connection soon and itll be even easier.
We chose the battery from the settings and that's all. After a couple hours we went from no battery to charged.
I would recommend this for anyone that boondocks using mild electricity during the day.

First time we saw this portable kit we were sold us on the idea of an inexpensive upgrade to our outdated rooftop solar. The most painful part is: Our original Solar was 135 watts on the roof installed for $4,000.
This little portable kit from GoPower! is 120 watts with zero install and priced under $600.00!
I say "zero install" but we opted for the direct connect adaptor that came with the kit, now all we do is plug in when attaching the panel, it's nice not to worry about trying to clamp onto the batteries since the battery compartment in our RV is super tight. Installing this plug took less than a half hour, so we think it's a no brainer.
We find the main benefit for this panel is capturing the first light of the day. This way we can wake up and instantly be charging our batteries...and therefor we can start the morning coffee ritual first thing! Of course its also great for capturing the last drop of light before sunset, and for capturing additional sun during the winter when the sun sits lower on the horizon.
Things to know:
The first time I plugged in the kit the charge controller wasn't turned on, or set for my type of flodded battery. Read the instruction manual and you'll avoid this issue.
I wish the carrying case wasn't quite so fitted, sometimes I cannot zip up the case very easily.
A dream add on would be some sort of tiny attachment that would show when the panel is in full sun. My solar oven has this little plastic hole (almost like a sundial) that shows when max sun exposure is achieved.
Overall I'd recommend this portable kit to anyone who is looking to get started with solar, and for those who want to add flexibility to their current rooftop solar setup. We've been using ours for a few months now and wouldn't change a thing.
Of course once we started our solar wish list we ended up having the
Go Power! (Solar Extreme) Solar and Inverter System
installed as well...now we're set with way more solar than we can use...time to upgrade the battery bank!
While GoPower! gave us this portable panel for testing, our opinions and experiences are our own. It's a great panel and you can read more of our thoughts on the system on our website Gone With The Wynns.
