I bought this for storing firewood out back by my fire pit. I looked at many of these storage boxes trying to find one that was heavy duty enough for firewood yet still in my price range. This seemed to fit the bill.
I was still a little nervous about the purchase, but when I received it and pulled the pieces out of the box it seemed like they were pretty sturdy. Assembly was a breeze (make sure you assemble on a solid, flat surface like a floor, deck, patio ect) went together smoothly and everything fit like a glove.
I left this out in the middle of my yard that night and it rained pretty hard. Upon inspection the next day the inside was still bone dry. Even so, I took an extra precautionary step and applied a bead of silicone caulk around the interior perimeter just to be safe. I brought it back into the woods by my fire pit and propped it up on a simple 4x4 platform that I leveled to keep it from #1 sitting in the mud and leaves and #2 warping and twisting on the uneven ground.
I will fill it with my firewood probably today or tomorrow but I have no doubt that it will be sturdy enough and dry enough to work exactly as I expect it to. If it fails my expectations I will for sure come back and change this rating but as for right now I think this was definitely the right box for my use!
