It pops open by pulling the string. That's it! No post to dig into the ground! Best of all, you and yours can sit in the shade on a full sized lawn chair... Not one of those low to the ground ones. Plenty of head room! Cheaper and bigger than other shelters. You can see it open (inside view): It practically fills half my living room! I cannot wait for beach season! Thank you. I absolutely love it! I'm so happy.
