The previous owner of our house had this exact deckbox for the pool and left it when they moved, which was 4 years ago, so we don't know how old it actually is-- the hinge is broken on the lid but everything still stays dry and it is out in the weather all the time. This is the ONLY deckbox we have found (and we have been searching a long time) with that inside shelf, which is SO convenient for storing small items we use for the pool. We knew it was going to be a pain to put together, and all of the other comments gave helpful hints that we will use when it arrives. I gave it 3 stars because of the inside shelf and will update after it arrives.
Updating my review. I upgraded the review to 5 stars. The box arrived a little banged up and one corner of the deckbox had a small ding in it due to hole in box, but it did not go all the way through the plastic, and that has nothing to do with the deck box itself, that is from the shipping. It did not take very long to put the deck box togehter and we did not need any tools. It does take a good push to snap the pieces together but we had no problems at all and everything lined up correctdly and just snapped in place very easily in a short amount of time. All of the panels were in the box and the straps for the hinge so there was nothing missing. Our exisitng deckbox of this brand and model number is at least 4 years old (it was left by previous owners of our house) and is still waterproof and we expect this one will be the same. Very pleased and would recommend this deckbox. We have other seating so do not plan to use for seating.

I've been using it to store my kids toys that are not in current use, this includes large items like those toddler propelled ride on things and large toy trucks.
The removable shelf inside is good for smaller items.

Not sure how the padlock is supposed to fit, but I don't need to lock it. Took longer to get the box opened than it took to assemble. Quickly snapped together; no tools. Wish it was gray to match my hot tub. Can also be used to hold the hot tub cover - dual use!
